Industrial PC Enclosures
The "Delta" Range
Axial were approached a few years ago by a customer who wanted us to design an enclosure to house a Compaq iPAQ PC in a factory environment.
The result of this consultation was Axial's Delta Workstation. Two variants were developed: one to house PCs in a wet, hostile environment (e.g. around fillers) and one to house PCs in a dry but dusty environment (e.g. palletiser areas). Both are fabricated from brushed stainless steel.
Delta Workstation for Non-hostile Environments
This unit is designed to be used in hot and / or dusty environments. The housing is cooled by a fan and is protected against dust ingress by filters.
Delta Workstation for Hostile Environments
This unit is designed for use in areas which are subject to liquid sprays and are generally wet and humid. The housing is cooled by a heat exchanger, which ensures that the interior of the housing is separated from the exterior environment.
The "Radium" Range
The Radium range of enclosures is a modular style of PC workstation, newly developed at Axial. Each workstation is constructed from several components, allowing the customer to choose the design which best suits their requirements. The Radium enclosures are available in either stainless steel or mild steel powder-coated in a colour specified by the customer.
As with the original Delta enclosures, the Radium range are designed to house PCs in a factory environment, either hostile or non-hostile. They are designed primarily for use with industrial panel PCs.
The following link shows detailed pictures of the Radium units.
"Radium" at Drives and Controls 2004
The Radium enclosures were unveiled at the Drives and Controls Exhibition held at Telford in October 2004 on the M.A.C Solutions stand.
This was a joint venture with M.A.C Solutions, who provide the Lauer industrial PCs that were fitted in the enclosures at the exhibition.
Below are 3 pictures from the event, showing the desk-mount and floor-mount models that were on display.
